OMG – I’m in a photo taken by Alison Bechdel! I think I can officially be over my angst about my taxes.

As always, an amazing event with you, Alison. I’ve had you and DTWOF on the brain lately as I’ve been re-reading the books in order as my girlfriend finishes them (for her first time… I’ve lost count for myself). Anyway, I’m enjoying catching up on your blog and back issues and found this post.

Anna (the once UCONN huskie) – are you Anna S who happened to take WS104 with me, Carey and Anne D? If so, hey! I’d love to hear how you’re doing. If not, just ignore this and be jealous you didn’t get to hear how we explained what my students called the “deception of the dildo” in Stone Butch Blues.

I loved hearing you speak, Allison, and am loving savoring each page of the book even more. When I went up to you to have it signed, I had so many thoughts in my head: “I love your work.” “I’ve been reading DTWOF for years!” “Your complex political analysis and witty sense of humor astound me.” “When my first girlfriend ended our two year long relationship, all I did was lay in bed for a week and read the first 6 DTWOF books over and over and over and over. The characters felt like my only friends.”

However, when I got there, all I said was, “I’m Linda.” and you asked, “With an ‘I’?” “With an ‘I’” I said, “Thanks.”

I was so sorry to have missed your MA tour! I saw you a few years ago at UCONN and really wanted to hear about “Fun House”(you probably don’t remember me, i was trying to figure out which school to transfer to…and had just read your autobiography).

I just want you to know that I was truly touched by this. I see a lot of work(i’m now a housing slave at RISD), but rarely have I come across something so moving and passionate and honest. I’m pretty much in awe of this peice.

Nice work, and the world owes you a “thank you”

Isn’t that where Words and Pictures, the museum of comic art, is? And also Kitchen Sink Press that published Twisted Sisters is there, I think. It’s a gay-friendly, comic-friendly town. Paradise, in other words.
