Loved it! Sounds like the school my partner is teaching at.

If they were not already in a strip I missed, my two favorite ads are by the same designer. they are brilliantly Bechdelian and sublimely satirical; We are Family Law and Whole Paycheck Market by Andrea Davis, I think, if the name appears above.

Is it fanfic when a cartoonist takes a well-known hyphenation conundrum and gives it a spin?

I think this competition is an excellent example of how brilliant fanfic can be and how it could work on this site. It works especially well when not in the original format; spoof articles or ads in no way affect the current suspended story line or challenge Alison's ownership (legally or conceptually) of the strip, you can clearly see how they are companion pieces. There are all manner of things in the DTWOF universe that could be imagined for laughs, (baby photos of the characters maybe), and could be set a bit like assignments, either by Alison or proposed by ourselves. Keep to other formats and keep away from what is essentially the strip drawn by other people (all though the substitutes were wonderful) and the thorny issues of ownership and continuity should be avoided.

Off topic,

Does anyone know what the corresponding times will be in the US at 2:28 PM Beijing time tomorrow? I should know this, but am too lazy to look, and I'd like to stand in solidarity if I can. I'm particularly interested in West Coast time, but can extrapolate.
