I had the clerk tell me the postage of one envelope (plus six sheets of paper as a guesstimate). We put that postage on, I stuck it in the outer envelope and then she weighed that one. (Actually, I bought the two "legal sized" mailers at the PO and addressed them there.) Like <i>postal nerd</i> wrote, I didn't want to risk it going astray for want of the wrong-sized stamp.
