Alison speaking at Dartmouth

Alert DTWOF fans and event organizers might have noticed that Alison has recently curtailed her public speaking schedule. She’s curtailed pretty much everything, in fact, as she’s working on a graphic novel. She will, however, be driving to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH to give a talk on Monday, October 11th, in honor of National Coming Out Day. The talk’s called, “Can I Stop Coming Out Now? Or, If ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’ is organizing closets on television, is there, properly said, anything left to come out of?”
Alison will show slides of her work and talk about identity, assimilation, liberation, propaganda, what kinds of pens she uses, the origins of totalitarianism, the sorry state of democracy, and coming out, among other things and not necessarily in that order.
Start time is 4pm. Carpenter Hall, Room 13.

Have you ever considered/been invited to speak at Bucknell University? You’ve hit some PA schools close by, I’ve noticed. You could give the Conservatives Club collective apoplexy, and the GLBT community on campus could sure use the shot in the arm. Hell, I’d even come back to campus for it.

have you considered having an RSS fed of this blog on livejournal. i have no idea what that entails, exactly, being something of a luddite, but it sounds cool.

It looks like somebody at the Livejournal DTWOF community has set one up. I’m not exactly sure how it works, but you can find the link here. I’m working on setting up another one. Will post as soon as I’ve got it figured out.
When I googled DTWOF and BLOG, I chose the first item, which was that live journal thing. I found my way here alright, but I thought you might like to know that. Also, I couldn’t find a link on the web site to this blog. Is that because the web site hasn’t been updated in a long time or is it because I missed it?
Thanks for alerting me to the Googling queue. I suspect that once this blog becomes more established, it’ll overtake the livejournal community.
