Toast Failure
June 24th, 2006 | Uncategorized
I am SO, SO sorry to anyone who showed up at the Toast Lounge in Somerville tonight expecting to see me there. I was supposed to come by and hang out after the reading I did at Simmons College for the Center for New Words, from 9 to 10. But my driver and I couldn’t find the place! And didn’t have a map! Or a phone number. I even got out on the street in Union Square and walked around asking people where Toast was, to no avail. Anyhow. I just got back to the hotel after being in the car for over an hour. And I’m terribly sorry and frustrated about the whole fiasco.

That driver is toast. Pun intended. Too bad.
What a drag. Poor you you must be so tired.
-Angus & the Bloaters.
ANGUS AND THE BLOATERS!
best band name ever.
thanks dude. I’m okay.
Now if only I had enough talent to be in a band. ):
I lived in Cambridge on the Sommerville border for 5 years until 2002 & have been back visiting a couple times and I have *never* heard of that place. (if it makes you feel any better!)
I went to see you at Toast with my partner and 2 of our friends … we wondered what happened and decided to bale at midnight … so thanks for the explanation. Toast is a great place so one thing the evening did achieve was a reminder to us that “we should come here more often!” so it was not all a loss … guess Amazon.com will be getting the books sales … good luck with your book tour. Peace.
Hey Alison, sorry you couldn’t find it. It doesn’t help that the place is practically underground; I should have given you directions before you left Simmons! In any case, it was a great reading Friday – thanks for coming!
-Sarah, the redhead selling (hundreds of your) books on Friday
I am a boston resi and stumbled upon your name/book through Jennifer Weiner’s blog of all places, can’t wait to check out your memoir and hopefully watch a book tour,
Congradulations!
