Okay, I’m sorry, but what with disputed election in Iran and North Korea shooting off missiles and the attempt to reform health care, I really can’t get too worked up about DOMA. I just got back from the new Star Trek movie. I’m hoping that maybe Obama is like young Spock sending young Kirk–us gay people–to the ice planet. Where we’ll find the older, future Spock/Obama, and eventually, after a lot of special effects, we’ll get our civil rights, which was part of the plan all along. Or not. I can’t really understand movies any more.

But in the spirit of Star Trek, plus the trailers for 10 other nonsensical action flicks I had to sit through, I’ve compiled an action flick of my own. Here are a few of the titanic conflicts that have been raging around here lately.

Look at all the strange new things going on here! Shawn changed the header up there today. And the new wordpress magician, Alison Abreu-Garcia, has numbered the comments and done a bunch of other little things.

More change is afoot! But don’t worry, we’re just kinda playing around and trying things out.

Thanks to everyone who sent resumes and websites in response to our search for a wordpress helper. By way of introducing Alison, I just have to show you the link she sent in her email. In the flurry of emails I just received about Prop 8 being upheld in CA, there was one offering these very clever stickers. You can get one here, from a group called Credo Action.

I have no doubt that in the end, the side with the best graphic design will triumph.

Here’s me and Shawn again. He’s the one with the five o’clock shadow. Thanks to all the people who expressed interest in the website helper job. We’re narrowing things down and Shawn will contact everyone soon. New Jersey is still backwards.

I’m sorry I don’t have anything more interesting to report. There was a red breasted grosbeak outside my window the other day.

And I spotted this trillium while hiking last Sunday.

Oh yeah, and here’s a movie of my cat watching that talking cat on the computer. She’s not particularly interested.

Here’s my new assistant Shawn and me, puzzling over how to fix up this website. (In case you’re confused, I’m in the blue.)

Does anyone out there have the skills to help us? We’re looking for someone with knowledge of html coding, some knowledge of wordpress, and some graphic design skills (and programs, like Adobe Suite).
