This t-shirt has been kicking around on my desk for months. I kept thinking I’d have a contest or something, and give it as a prize. But I can’t think of one. Except this: the first person who emails me with their (continental u.s.) address, gets it. It’s an XL Hanes Beefy T, that I drew for a soccer team that played in the ’94 Gay Games.

    Hi, AB
Would love to get the t-shirt, unfortunately, am not in the U.S., but in Germany.
    So, just a wishful thinking.
Love Dykes To Watch Out For and Fun Home.
CanΒ΄t wait for your new book.
    Keep up the good work.
    Best wishes.

  2. Lea says:

Yeah me too, also in Germany ;-).
Mmmhh I think the US gals are still asleep, at work eh well don’t know what time it is there… ( I know there are a few ;-))

  3. oh, jeezum!
I wasn’t paying attention, and a bunch of emails have come in already. So it’s gone, but thanks fer playin’ everyone!

  4. Fred says:

    Hi AB,

Me too … but in France!
Love Fun Home and DTWOF, your website and all your “daily adventures”.
    Best wishes.

  5. Aunt Soozie says:

No one else emailed you yet?
I feel greedy since I have some DTWOF toys already but…
    that’s one nice t shirt

  6. Aunt Soozie says:

oh gee… I read the notes from the readers not yours Alison!
I figured it couldn’t be so!
    Great T Shirt though…
I thought maybe it was the promo t shirt for a DTWOF movie!
Since there is an ad for a video store or something on the sleeve!!!
Ahhh… that was a fine fantasy while it lasted!

  7. Darren Zieger says:

I think “Silver Screen” on the sleeve refers to the technique for printing on t-shirts, called “screening” πŸ˜‰

    Really wanted that shirt, though…

AB, what’s your position on fans using CafePress.com to home-brew their own DTWOF merchandise (for personal use, as opposed to putting it up for sale)?

I’d also be willing to put in the time to set up a DTWOF cafepress store which directed the profits to you. It would be a fun project for me, and the fanboy street cred would be sufficient compensation for the effort πŸ˜‰

  8. Cheryl says:

I am relieved to see New Jersey back in its proper location in relation to Pennsylvania on the wall map!

  9. Darren, I’ve been meaning to set up a Cafe Press site forever, but just haven’t had time to manage it. Um…I didn’t know about the home brew option, though.

  10. Ellen O. says:

Does anyone else have moral quandaries about supporting Cafe Press? Yes, they sell all kinds of queer-friendly, progressive products, but they also profit off of T-shirts and bumper stickers ridiculing gay marriage, trashing immigrants, and equating President Obama with communism.

  11. Pam I says:

Apropos nothing – Sylvia cartoon today has a nice take on punctuation, of which I know there are enthusiasts here. (Odd grammar there, please correct for me.)

http://www.gocomics.com/sylvia/ go to Oct 23rd if it’s not today.

  12. Aunt Soozie says:

meatloaf in the shape of a dangling participle… nice line…

  13. Kate L says:

Cheryl (#9) Yes, the geologic map of Pennsylvaina and New Jersey appears to have been returned to its proper tectonic configuration. For =this= timeline! πŸ™‚ I still think that the previous picture with Pennsylvania, east of New Jersey, was a cross-over posting from an alternate universe, with an alternate A.B. And with an alternate Cheryl and an alternate Kate, I guess! I think about stuff like this, ever since I took quantum interdimensional mechanics with Kate Janeway at the Academy.

  14. Kate L says:

I don’t get up as early as hairball, so I just saw her news about the passing away of Soupy Sales at age 83. I watched the Soupy Sales Show when I was a kid in the 60’s, and was even inspired to draw my own story boards featuring the likes of White Fang. Gosh, in a different universe, who knows what sort of career that might have led to! Hey, maybe in that alternate universe, I’m a cartoonist!!! Kate sadly contemplates the passing of Soupy, and what might have been…

Our Maggie JoChild is still in the hospital after Major surgery. Because she has no money and no insurance, they are threatening to kick her out before she is even ambulatory. Seriously. She needs donations. Please go to her website and kick in whatever you can. http://maggiesmetawatershed.blogspot.com/

You know what an important contribution Maggie has made here. It’s time to help her out. Thanks so much.

  16. Dr. Empirical says:

Re: Ellen (11): I think Cafe Press performs a valuable service. Anyone can design a t-shirt, bumper sticker or whatever and attempt to sell it. Cafe Press has no editorial input, and I don’t believe they should. This is free speech in pure form!

If someone wants to buy and wear an “I’m a Bigotted Pinhead” shirt, they’re welcome to do so. Makes them easier to spot.

  17. Alison, I don’t suppose you have any NCLR t-shirts you’d like to get rid of? The one with Mo as Lady Liberty, in a bedsheet toga.

  18. ksbel6 says:

Man, I replied so quickly to the question about which drawing of Harvey was AB’s because I thought for sure I would win a cool tshirt or something. Then, just when I’m off at the final four tournament for the state (my team took 2nd for those of you that care…Hairball, my pitcher ended the season with 386 strikeouts in 29 games, the new state record), and I miss out on a cool soccer tshirt!! That is a bummer.

  19. hairball_of_hope says:

    @ksbel6

That tops Lauren Delaney’s record? Cool. Go Tigers!
