security

The Portland airport has free wi-fi. Such a civilized, community-spirited city. I’m posting this on my way to Seattle. The thing I’ve always hated about travel is the unfamiliarity of everything. But when you travel a lot, the unfamiliarity itself becomes familiar, if not routine. Here I am in the Kafkaesque security line just a few minutes ago.

You do realize you’re arriving in Seattle on a day that President Bush the Younger is also in town?

(Believe me, I’d rather have you!)

Also – are you a vegetarian? If so, check out Cafe Flora – best veg & vegan in Seattle. As a bonus it’s near the Washington Park Arboretum. 🙂

I love the word-play of Kafkaesque, especially in an airport security line! The Portland airport is actually quite nice until you go down to baggage claim and notice there are only 4 baggage claim carousels for the entire international airport! Amazing! I would love to know what was going through your mind in the photo above! Kafka? Security? Free wi-fi? Air travel? The large GE insignia on the metal detector? Yikes! Have a great time in Seattle!
