Hey, thanks to everyone who responded to the question about where you read the strip–in print or online. It was really interesting and useful to get all that information. Not sure what I’m gonna do with it yet, but you gave me a thought-provoking glimpse into the evolving media landscape. For now, I’m just psyched you’re all reading it, whatever the source.

My partner and I have been following DTWOF for 9 or 10 years now, starting in Toronto, then Manchester,UK and now Philadelphia. We used to have to wait semi-patiently for the newest book to arrive in the local alt.bookshop; usually it was toss-up whether the latest edition would arrive before the bookshop got its eviction notice… The arrival of online strips has been wonderful. But, to draw a couple of recent threads together, it was also a treat to find the link to the Art Spiegelman piece which, in a print-only world, we might have missed. It showed, again, what we have admired about you for years – your astonishing powers as an insightful observer. I would say “worthy of Spiegelman himself” except that, having read you first I think of Spiegelman as “worthy of Bechdel herself”. Or something like that.
Do you think of doing more non-DTWOF things? I certainly don’t mean ‘instead of’; I would just love to see more pieces that don’t rely on ‘advancing the plot’, but simply have the space for you to give us your view of things.
Thank you for the blog-space; I don’t think I have ever written a fan letter, but a fan comment seems do-able!

i’ve been reading your strip now since i was a lil freshlady at bryn mawr. you came, did a presentation (with a viewfinder, i think!) and i was sunk — hook, lin, and sinker. a queer straight girl is what i ended up being, but no matter what, your strip has provided a home for me during all my weird meanderings. i recently wrote a piece on my own blog about this and other sundry. do take a look if you possibly ever have the time: it’s The Broad’s View lisarosman.blogspot.com. either way, thank you for continuing to pen your strip. it’s such a reliable pleasure!

Alison – I’ve got an almost-complete collection of DTWOF books, the Indelible AB, and I read the strip at PlanetOut. My eleven-year-old daughter loves the books. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the ever-evolving relationships and the exquisitely on-target analysis.
Many moons ago I sat in a booth at the MWMF helping friends sell their handmade runes. Next to me was this incredibly cute but shy woman from the northeast named Alison. 😉 I am sure you don’t remember that, but I still remember how charming you were and how friendly you were to me.
