Jane Rule died last night from complications of liver cancer at age 76. Desert of the Heart was one of the first lesbian books I read when I was 19. Here’s an excellent obituary in Xtra.

Look! In my yard. On Thanksgiving.
I don’t know if anyone will really be interested in this, or if I’ll have the time to deal with it. But I just had a thought about another contest-type activity.

I’m in DC. Tomorrow night is the graphic novel panel I’m doing with Chris Ware and Lynda Barry. I’m getting ready to go to DC later this week to be on a panel with Chris Ware and Lynda Barry.
That’s about all I have to report. Oh. Except last night I had a dream that Hillary Clinton asked me to be her press secretary. I didn’t feel very prepared, but she sent me out to handle a press conference anyway and I pretty much flubbed it. I think this is about my anxiety about the thing with Ware & Barry. Or…? What do you think?
